This is the next painting in my golfing series. Life has been a bit hectic lately as those of you who follow Sally-Ann's blog will know.

The Art Exhibition was very successful as we sold 62 paintings. I only sold one but I'm happy with that. It was 'Fishy Goings On', the first one on my blog.

Birdie Putt

After watching the Scottish Open from Loch Lomond I've started a series of paintings with a golfing theme.

The Fairway

My last painting 'Gone Fishing' was the result of thinking about song titles. This one was to be entitled 'Straight Down the Middle' but that was too long to fit on the label for the Exhibition so it is called 'The Fairway'. I am not too happy with it but am working on some more on the golfing theme.

Gone Fishing

I finished this picture yesterday ready to put in our Art Club exhibition which is held the first week of August.

Prussia Cove

This cove is on the south coast quite near to Penzance and it was the home of an infamous pirate who called himself "The King Of Prussia".

Dabbling Ducks

This is one of my favourite pictures and I am very proud of it. I did it many moons ago in an Adult Education class. It won a gold star in a Cornwall Federation of Women’s Institutes Competition! There must be upwards of 800 pieces of material in this collage, I know it took me a heck of a long time to do it!

Mudeford Quay

This was painted during my last painting holiday about three years ago. I really enjoyed the holiday inspite of the fact that it rained every day!

Geese

We used to keep geese, goats and a pony. Aahh - Happy Days.

Reflections

I'm always pleased when I can paint a boat that looks real!

Gweek

We lived in Gweek for a few years and I was secretary at the boatyard which was handy as staff discount came in very useful for our many boating projects. The figure on the bridge is my dad who loved to fish.

Newquay Harbour

This is another painting holiday picture. It is a second attempt and I am pleased I persevered. I am very happy with this result.

Old Cottages

This is another painting I did on holiday. The location is Newquay Park.

Boat For Sale

When I was more mobile than I am now I went on some Painting Holidays. Most of them were in Cornwall but what better scenery can you get anyway? This picture is of old Newlyn harbour.

Old Warehouses

This was my first attempt with this medium. The picture was in a copy of Leisure Painting.

Racing in Mounts Bay

I thought this bright painting might cheer up a very dull day.

Common Loon

This pencil drawing brings back happy memories for me. After my husband retired we went to Canada to meet up with a family who had been very kind to him whilst he was training with the RAF. One of the daughters lived in Hamilton nr Toronto and they took us out in their day boat on Lake Ontario. We spent the night in a boat-motel on an island in the lake. Seeing this bird and hearing its plaintive cry is something I have never forgotten.

Heart Doodles

I did this yesterday at art club after seeing a heart doodle on a blog I follow 'withmybootsandsketchbook'. I love trying different styles. I used to be too afraid of failure but now I think – What the heck it’s only a piece of paper!

St Bygone

The little girl on the right is me with my Mum and Dad - note the white socks and black patent leather shoes! Modern day dress is so much more comfortable.

El Cortijo

I lived in Spain for seven years and when I saw this picture in Leisure Painter it inspired me to have another go at oil painting.

Happy Days

This picture is also done entirely from memory but I can't remember which beach inspired it!!

Memories of Montmartre

One of the paintings that I sold at the exhibition was in this naive style so I thought I'd use it again. This is done entirely from memory as it was at least 40 years ago that I visited Paris.

Fishy Goings On

Here is one of my latest paintings - something nice and bright for my first post on my new blog.

After being ill and not painting for six months I sold four paintings in our local exhibition and regained my enthusiasm. I was inspired by an article in Leisure Painter to try a different style and this was the result.
